We think supporting breast cancer awareness via Trulia Pro is a great way to do two things at once. What other causes do you support in your area?

Today is the National Breast Cancer Awareness day, and trulia is doing its part to raise breast cancer awareness and support Susan G Komen for the Cure. For every Trulia Pro premium marketing subscription purchased (http://www.trulia.com/truliapro) through the end of the month, Trulia will donate the first month’s fee to Susan G Komen for the Cure (http://ww5.komen.org/). Just use code PINK during the billing process to make sure your money is donated to this fantastic organization.

It is wonderful that Trulia is supporting these causes. I support the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, because Ovarian Cancer is another deadly disease that we have to find a cure for. Last spring I participated in the Revlon Women's Walk to raise money to find a cure for both breast and ovarian cancer.

Alzheimers and Prostate Cancer have & are affecting our families - so that is an area I have long supported. A month ago my 31 yr old daughter was diagnosed with Leukemia. Suddenly, this has taken the fore-front in my focus. My husband and I have been on the bone marrow registry for years, but can't help our daughter as a match. We are hoping that a match may be found through the national bone marrow registry http://www.marrow.org/ Just going to your local blood center and giving blood, or being tested for the bone marrow registry could save the life of someone You know and love.

As many have said- your life can change....in an instant.

Vicky!

This is a wonderful, heartfelt thing for Trulia to be doing. They're putting their money where their mouth is...for sure! Small gestures like this go a long way.

Other causes? How about donating whole blood and/or platelets at your local Community Blood Center, and trying to drag some agents from your office in with you? How about feeding hungry people on your local street corner/intersection? Subway sandwich shops are everywhere, go buy one for $5! How about donating some $ to craigslist's non-profit foundation after you rent or sell a property that came directly from your ad on craigslist?

You should post more about this subject on a regular basis....it helps ground us all.

I've recently celebrated my one year anniversary of my bilateral mastectomy. I found that there weren't really any support groups that were aimed at the happy stuff instead of concentrating on the bad/sad/uncomfortable, etc. So I and another survivor who both love to laugh and find funny things even in the face of cancer, started a support group. We are http://www.fightingpink.org or myspace.com/thefightingpink We recently became a state registered non-profit and are hoping to upgrade our website to be a functional discussion forum soon. We aren't looking for a cure, we'll leave that to the professionals. We're just finding ways to laugh and support each other and find something good in every day. We say we're 'bringing out your inner warrior spirit'. There's always something to laugh about, always an ear to listen, a hand to hold, a companion to dr visits, and comfort knowing that you're not alone in the fight. Cancer doesn't care how old you are. Please schedule your mammogram today!
