Aloha:
My name is Mike Gallagher and I am Broker in Charge at RE/MAX Honolulu.
I strongly recommend Abe Lee Seminars for Pre Licensing requirements.

It's a tough time to get into Real Estate in Hawaii so make sure you have another source of income!

After licensing please feel free to give me a call and I can tell you all about RE/MAX Honolulu. My cell: 808-384-9015

Visit my website to get familiar with the entire Oahu Real Estate Market athttp:// www.hawaiirealestatestatistics.com

Much Aloha

Michael,

You can also study for and take your licensing test right there in Washington State before you come over, provided Washington has Promissor offices.

I took the online course from Rick Seiler. It wasn't the most organized online course, but I passed and it wasn't too difficult. Here is the link:

www.rickseiler.com

Once you pass your final exam with him and receive your certificate, you can schedule your Hawaii State exam right there in Washington. Here is the link to the Hawaii gov page to do that:

Good luck and welcome to the rock! (when you get here!)

Hi Michael!
You need to get in contact with the Real Estate Commission in Hawaii. They may award you the general part of the exam but you will need to take and pass with 70% approval on the state part. There's no way around that.

Good Luck!

If you are going to be on the Big Island go to this site for class information. I wouldn't go anywhere else for classes. This guy is Hawaii Real Estate.

Hi Michael,

Slightly different for broker or agent, however the base requirement is passing the Hawaii laws test. The national is generally waived for people in your situation.
Hawaii does not base its property lawn in the English Common Laws and the grid sytem like Washington. Hawaii has some unique artifacts from its days as an independent kingdom. Because of that, even though you may not need it officially, it would be prudent to take the full license prep course here in Aloha land.
Spokane is my old stomping grounds - 2 degrees from Eastern and two more from GU. Ah, the memories...
Drill down from Hawaii.gov to the licensing section for realtors. They'll have all the material you need.

Welcome (in advance) to Hawaii.
