Just got a call from Trulia and informed me that I will have an opportunity to purchase 50% of one zip code. Is it worth to try? Do it or not?

Do you want to work with BUYERS interested in moving to that zip code?

Do you want to be on call 24/7?

Are you willing to field 50-75 of these buyer calls before closing a transaction?

Are you willing to pay additional money for a tool like Follow Up Boss which will ensure that the money you spend on the leads is not wasted but that a powerful response plan and long-term follow-up plan is instantly launched for each and every leads that comes in?

If you answered "No" to any of the above, then this might not be a good source of leads for you. If, however, you can say "YES! I'm cool with that!" then it might be something worth doing.

Researching the zip code is very important. I am on month 2 of using Trulia. I picked the zip code I live in, my neighborhood has home prices that are in the price range I want to sell. However, I could not just pick my own town I got all the surrounding areas that are in very depressed neighborhoods. I do get a fair amount of leads but have not done it long enough to extrapolate conversion rates.

I got a call, too, saying one of zip codes was now available!!......

well, that told me the person who had it dropped it because it wasn't profitable!
I passed, and said no thank you.

Mobile ads, in my opinion, are not worth it. Online, maybe.

Opportunity? Depends on cost & amount of leads your area "may generate". It will also help if you have several listings for optimum exposure. Good luck.

It depends on the zipcode. check where does this zipcode stand in sales compared to other zipcodes in your area and how much activity do you personally get out of that same zipcode. this information should tell you if its a good idea or not.
