Linda Lorenzo, Real Estate Pro in McKinney, TX

Is anyone using Pinterest as a real estate tool? I took a class and have started an account for my city for real estate.

Sure is a lot of fun but not sure how to attract followers. If you want to see what I am doing for ideas of your own here is my URL: https://pinterest.com/mckinneyrealtor/

I've taken the class, too, and agree that it's a fun social networking opportunity. I'd be browsing there anyway, so why not do double duty? I don't make it about real estate per se, but I do pin a lot of house and decorating ideas. Here I am: http://pinterest.com/carlapdot/

I love that Pinterest can be a subtle and fun approach to marketing. I think it also allows clients to get to know you on a personal level instead of it being ALL BUSINESS ALL THE TIME.

I'd have to agree with Suzanne MacDowell 100%. I take many classes that teach the same thing about staying in contact with your sphere and facebooke/pinterest is an easy/fun way to that on a regular basis. Good luck and happy pinning!

It does seem like a lot of recipes now that you mention it :-)

I have heard many people using it for business, but I can't figure out what they are doing. I thought it was just a bunch of women sharing recipes! LOL!

If you figure out a way, please let us know. Good luck!

Hi Linda
I just started to use Pinterest. I am in the learning stages. I write a blog, use Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, my personal websites, real estate websites...... I agree with Suzanne, it is about staying contected to your sphere. It is also time consuming but I think the way of the future.
Good Luck

I use both Pinterest and Facebook as part of my marketing strategy but I do not use them specifically or exclusively to promote my listings. To me, the primary purpose of these sites is to stay connected to my sphere and to make new connections by being 'social' and reminding them, subtly, that I am a realtor, knowledgeable, successful and able to help them with their real estate needs when the time comes.I have gotten one listing by posting my Trulia Blog to facebook. It was a topic related to short sales. When it posted, a 'friend' messaged me and asked if I would, please, help her brother whose home was in foreclosure. I did, I contacted the brother and we listed and sold the house.

It may take time, but if you remember the purpose, and be a 'friend' and 'follower' first and foremost it will pay off in the end. I post photos of favorite rooms, decorating schemes, home tips and actual houses that I would love to live in! here is a link to MY Pinterest page, follow and and I will follow you and maybe we can help each other out.
