ONE THING I HAVE LEARNED IS NEVER WORK WITH A BROKER THAT SELLS REAL ESTATE.,
YOU DON'T WANT TO COMPETE WITH YOUR OWN BROKER ON GETTING A LISTING BECAUSE GUESS WHO WINS????
THAT IS AN IMPORTANT QUESTION TO ASK!!

Do they have an in house marketing team that can assist you with your personal branding? How you market yourself is an important consideration.

First and foremost I'd do some homework and determine which agencies have the high producers--those are the agencies I'd focus my sights on. When interviewing I'd ask about their market share--there is a reason the buyers and sellers are gravitating to that agency and that's where you want to be. Don't focus on the fees because in the end they are immaterial if you are successful--bottom line, you want to be where the business is going.

If I was going to interview a new agent to see if I wanted to sponsor them the last thing I want to hear first is "What fees do you charge" and "What split will I be on". What I want to hear is: why you wanted to get into real estate; what you bring to the table for the consumer; how do you expect to build your business, and what are your goals for the first year.

What you should be interested in if you want to build a good career is: what kind of daily support you can expect; what are the training program offered; what kind of support is offered to build your business; and then what kind of costs are you looking at to get through the first year.

One thing left out is .. does this broker / manager and company look like a good place to make freinds and build a business. The atmosphere is so important to how you feel about going to work each and every day. This you should figure out by the end of the interview.

Best of luck ... Bruce

A Mortgage Broker, or Realtor? For either it should be the fees!!!!! What are the fees? Who pays the fees? How much will it cost you?

Ask a few things.

Ask about there desk fees, commission splits, and marketing plan!! Also ask about training and who pays. Today is all about technology. Dont be scared to ask questions and talk to as many brokers as you feel you need. It is your career and you should truly choose a broker who you feel comfortable with.
