"If an agent gives you a follow up call or email AFTER the showing..." absolutely yes!
A robotic request the moment you schedule a showing... Absolutely not!

In the former, the feed back would be pertinent and beneficial to securing the buyer that is a match for that home. Pet smells, residual smoke and the dead tree in the back yard do not go unnoticed. Of course the seller knows, they just don't believe.

Best of success to you,

One hand washes the other" in our business.

I personally do because I know how important feedback is to our strategy. I find that sellers really appreciate feedback whether good or bad, it's communication. I love when I call agents for feedback and they get snippy when giving it, you can tell their ego is in the way...we need to not take feedback personally....

You should. Especially if you would like to be treated the same with your listings.

Of course. It's the right thing to do. You can share your thoughts on areas of concern and what can be improved -- the other agent may appreciate another agent's perspective that he can share with the sellers.

Absolutely. I know my sellers want feedback, and so I do ask agents who have shown my listings for feedback. Similarly, when asked I do so.

Dear Barbara,

Yes I do and I feel feedback is very important to the listing agent and the owner of the property. I once had a property that was taking a long time to sell. I could not understand the reason until we began to work more on feedback. It turned out there was one broken tile, under new carpets that gave the floor an unstable feel when buyers walked there. We had the tile replaced and the home then sold quickly!

If they send me a canned email, I report it as spam.

Our MLS sends us an email after our showing asking for feedback. We always respond as quickly as possible.

Definitely, As a courtesy any agent should answer the request right away. This will help the listing agent to know the conditions of the listing property.

All the best,

Absolutely! I appreciate it when someone responds to my requests and understand that my input might help them sell the listing just as theirs will help me.

Thanks for all your responses! After contacting over 10 agents for feedback by either phone call or personal email this week, only one was kind enough to get back to me. In fact, one agent must have accidently called me back because when he heard it was me, hung up!! I was beginning to wonder if basic professional courtesies had left our business.

I'm with you on the "robo requests", Annette!
