It looks like a feeding frenzy with out of the area agents waving their hands in the air "Pick Me!"..., but I suppose that that there are a lot of Agents who need the business and spend lots of time online searching for leads and whatever business they can find... me too sometimes. Right now I get from 4-7 good leads a day off the Internet. One thing that always makes me wonder though is how an Agent who is perhaps 40 miles away can say they know very much about the Tacoma market...really. Even the Gig Harbor Agents now need to pay a toll on the new bridge and jump into that territory.

Guess its ok, but if what happens if they need to show homes day after day? Will they handle it well? Its been my experience that many will not. - btw, This would have been a good post for the Agent-2-Agent section.

I don't know Don Dutton personally, but I like his posts and he has been around the Tacoma area a long time... longer than I have. I personally work with Ft. Lewis and McChord with their online Relocation services and place a lot of Military personnel. We assist with shipping, moving and utility needs too. -

As for local info for your people..., there are jobs here and certain areas boast better schools than others plus there are a couple bedroom communities that appear to be more desirable than others. There are certainly some areas that may not be best for your friends to move into.... but most Agents will not post that kind of possibly discriminating information on a Public forum...right?

Home prices can be from $136,000 for a 2 bedroom average home in an average area, to $249,000 for a fairly nice 3 bed, 2 bath home in an average neighborhood. Upscale areas can demand upwards of $289,000 to $349,000 or more for 3 bed/2bath homes. --- One good option may be to rent until they get to know the area better..., even 3-6 months.

Now be nice all you out of area Agents who posted for Tacoma business, and don't give me too many thumbs down. - oh go ahead if you must. - hehehe ;-)

Just my 2 cents worth,

I am a developer in Tacoma and have been working around the downtown area for years. I can say that Tacoma is a great place, but the area can be diverse from one block to the next. It is a continually changing town and has everything any large city has to offer. If your looking for someone out of town and your out of town too, I would enlist a local realtor or partner. The TPD does offer a community interactive crime page. Although, I have seen some of the better neighborhoods with higher crime rates than the areas I would expect. Good luck!-Chad

Tacoma is like any other city, from the standpoint of having a varity of areas, depending on price point there are alot of homes to choose from . I have lived in and sold Real estate in the Tacoma, Gig harbor area for 7 Years. If you can give me an idea of what your buyers price point is and I can tell or email them what their best options are ? Knowing that different parts of the country are in different markets I can offer numerous options to them and would gladly assist them in their relocation . I have included a link to my website that would allow them to search by map . I would be happy to help in any way I can .

By a few days you have a many agents giving a lot of info about themselves and what they know about the market. I liked how Debi set it up talk about openning the communication with your clients, yourslef and us in Tacoma. For your info Tacoma is set up in many different areas. If your clients are looking in North tacoma and Fircrest I would also enjoy talking to you and your clients to see how I and my full time staff can help you find them what they need and want in there new home. If they have children and need to know about the schools let me know. Having young kids myself I know the schools first hand.

Blessings, Make it a great day.
