I loved my Trulia profile over zillow, now I hate it. How much of this do you feel these changes r due to the zillow buyout?

Asked by Erica Texada, MIDLOTHIAN, TX Sun Aug 3, 2014

Old profile had over 30 recommendations, 7500 views. Now I'm down to 16 recommendations and 65 views. No Check Ins, about me, etc.. How much of this do you feel has to do with the Zillow buyout?

I concur and will add...... had I had any interest in utilizing zillow, I would have been throwing my money in their pot . Darn change bites and I fear the negative affects will continue.

I noticed the same and HATE IT. I do not know about why, but we all agree it is not what us agents wanted or like.

I am so with you!

Oh yes this kind of change not so good.

Well, according to Trulia - and our profile pages - those of us here have the following number of "Listings":

1. Sharon has 296
2. Brian has 28
3. Terri has 25
4. Judi has 190
5. Christopher has 19
6. Suzanne has 69
7. I have 59

I am going to take a stab at this that ALL of those numbers are wrong - not just by a little, but by a lot!.....I know mine is!

Posting those incorrect "stats" is very misleading, imo, to the consumer...
There is no excuse for such blatant misrepresentation on Trulia's part.......

They should check facts before posting ridiculous numbers!

Erica, check to see if any of your reviews were "deflated" -- i.e. moving from an original 5-star rating to a new 1-star rating... That happened to me on one rating, but Customer Service was able to send me the instructions on how to get it fixed (as long as the original reviewer doesn't mind logging back in and fixing it)...
Big changes indeed. We must be patient, I suppose.

Ugh, this happened to me too. So frustrating to see "negative" feedback that I've never actually received.

I don't know if it's the buyout or not, but my two most recently sold listings are showing in my dashboard as sold with all the details, but they are not showing on my profile. Who knows what's going on.

The interface itself seems alright. I would be stoked if they would super-charge the old, buggy "check-in" feature on the Agents App. It would be GREAT if you could do broker previews of properties, take pictures/video and compile them into your own "tour" of the home. It should auto-post to your blog as a review or check-in or whatever and the check-in notice on your profile page should link right to that particular blog post.

How cool would that be?

I like the check-in feature and I agree -- previews of properties, posted to one's blog would be COOL!

I agree, Terri - but It's the "inaccurate" part/data that troubles me........I see inflated number of "Listings" on numerous profile pages...........

the consumer sees those inaccurate numbers, too, and may believe them

I haven't really looked at the before and after. The sight is buggy. It has on occasion responded to me my post are inappropriate and there is no reason for it.

Does it all matter in the big picture. The general public doesn't understand it any more than we do. I think all they want is good content, accurate and fast answers.

On to business as usual.

Erica for sure there are a number of glitches on the site - here on the Q&A section (no notifications when responses are posted) and now with the roll out of the new profile page format - even more glitches.

I doubt it has anything to do with Zillow - but maybe they can learn from zillow as they don't seem to have the site issues trulia has been experiencing.

You need to play around on the new profile page to figure things out better - your "About ME" section is there, it is shows as "ABOUT" (it's not really clear to a visitor what that means) - click on it, and it will open your existing information...........the number of listings shown on my page is way off......(only wish I had 59 listings! :)

I can't seem to open my Q&A section (that's now located on your page as "ACTIVITY") when I click on Activity, I only get a black circle that keeps spinning....maybe it works better for those agents who only have a few hundred posts, and not those of us who have thousands.....who knows!

The number of profile views is definitely distorted - mine reset to only 200 something and now, same as with Suzanne, my total number is DECREASING daily!

I wish I could understand why a site of this size and stature unveils new things without making sure the information provided is accurate.......none of us run our businesses that way!

There are several glitches with the new profile system so be sure to contact Trulia customer service as you find them. I don't believe the buyout has anything to do with the new profile system. I think it is a much cleaner layout but definitely needs to be fixed.

There are definitely glitches in the system. I feel the profile changes are due to changing times, not just Zillow buyout. If you notice all social media changes every so often to better serve the users.

Erica, pardon the second answer, but I just checked my profile and my views have changed just since yesterday. The number has gone DOWN and the life time views match exactly the views in the last few days, which were both higher yesterday. This leads me to believe it is some sort of computer glitch caused by the potential buyout. I do hope Trulia is working on this. I spoke to a customer service rep on Friday who told me I needed more recommendations when I have plenty of recommendations. I was also advised that my 'areas served' needed to be inputted as zip codes rather than names of towns and cities. I really do suspect this is a lot of 'growing pains' but check with customer service and make sure they have your information inputted accurately.

IMO - trulia shouldn't be undergoing "growing pains" - not if they are worth 3.5 billion to zillow!!...... they are already full grown and the public owns shares of them! :)

I wonder if these will be restored at some time in the near future. I had the same thing with views, but my recommendations are there. But, I also had recommendations on Zillow, not as many but some. I would call the customer service line and ask.
