I am currently working with a high end buyer who read a blog I wrote, investigated further, and, after interviewing me, decided to work with me..........I also have had other buyers and sellers reach out to me as a result of my online activity.
It's a way to open the door to potential new business - you have extraordinary exposure here.......and it does seem to be working!

I have had a great number of clients find me via the Internet. Here, on Active Rain, on Zillow. Answering questions and writing blogs.....gives potential clients an insight into how I operate and I think a comfort level.
I hear quite a bit that someone liked a blog post and that's why they called me.
Thanks for the advice. I come from a tech background so I am very comfortable with on-line stuff. Sometimes it almost seems like "noise" when people are not in the moment and post meaningless filler in hopes of raising their on-line profile or boost SEO...but I have to say I'm impressed with the advice and experiences you've all related...really helpful stuff...Thank You!...I am going to make an effort to be more active on-line...The good far outweighs the bad.

I think if you take consideration that most buyers are searching online, it can't hurt to have an online presence. From speaking to other agents, doing the blogs can be helpful. As as real estate site subcriptions, I hear Active Rain is pretty good. In regards to increasig sales, I think it varies from agent to agent. due their choices of activity.
