Hi I just did my real estate continuing ed but I really don't want to be a realtor right now- can I renew without paying libor and all the other stuff

Sure you can renew without paying all those fee's just shelve the license with your broker, or there are some companies out here that will hold your license in a referral based program and you can still make a referral fee without payng all those other fee's but they might charge you a fee for that

Yes you can. We have a separate corporation that is "holding" licenses. It keeps you able to receive referral fees and keeps you in good stead.

You need to check with your state licensing board. They should have an online site that will answer your questions.

In NC to keep a license you just need to pay the real estate commission their license fee each year. You only need the education if you want an active license which means one that you can get paid for having when you sell something. It sounds like you just need to pay the state license fee. That's the law here, NY could be different. Ask your broker - that is what they are there for.
