with the names of cameras any of you would recommend. This one was about 2.5 years old and does not have wide angle so I was wondering if anyone could recommend a digital w/zoom and wide angle that wonn't put me in debt..

Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you!

I would buy a Nikon D40. It's less expensive the the D40x and unless you're making posters you don't need 10 megapixels. It's a workhorse that has almost no wait time from picture to picture. Waiting for the battery to charge up between shots is a pain. It's a optical SLR and comes with a 1 gig card. Pictures are great and it's easy to use. I've had one for a year and love it. In addition to great real estate pictures I can get great action shots of my 8 and 9 year old girls swimming, skating and playing softball. Has a good flash for interior shots also. I'd buy another without hesitation. Drawback, it's a real camera and won't fit in your pocket.

I've always had great success with Canon. My last one took excellent shots with rich color and had a great macro mode. That being said I wanted a new camera with a wide-angle (28mm equivilent or wider) so I could take pictures inside a bedroom and get more than just the bed. If you are looking at the digital SLRs the Nikon D40 (this model may be outdated and a new model available) is great with the standard wide + 4x zoom. It is Nikon's most affordible SLR. I borrowed an associates and it takes great pics and plenty wide-angle without too much distortion. I wanted something more portable and ended up purchasing the Casio EX-Z100 at Costco for $199. It is 10.1mp, 27mm wide-angle, 4x zoom, and has more capabilities that I need, but the price was right, and the pics are great. It is YouTube ready if you want to shoot video of your listing for YouTube.

Here is a Panasonic model listed here that should be perfect for your "wide angle" needs: http://www.trulia.com/blog/winston_wang/2008/10/the_best_dig…

I have been shopping for a wide angle/zoom camera for a few months, and recently came across a "photo class" by http://www.FranklyRealty.com that makes good camera recommendations. Also a recent blog post by Jeff Archer of RealEstateShows.com at http://res.realestateshows.com/panasonic-lumix-fx35-vs-kodak-v705/

What I do know is that you want Optical Zoom not digital zoom. Optical gives better quality photos

I have two digital cameras. I have a $190 Olympus that does wide angle and zoom. It does a good job, is easy to use and takes good pictures. Its older and the LCD screen is small. I'm getting older and it gets harder to see the screen every year. All of these type cameras have similar optical zoom(3X to 7X) and wide angle capabilities. I know larger optical zoom is a good thing.. I have been considering getting an Olympus Stylis 1010. It has a bigger LCD screen 2.7" and 7X optical zoom (about $250)

I wanted a wider, wide angle lens so I purchased another camera a few years ago

I have a Fugi finepix 5000 It was expensive when I purchased it but you can get a similar
camera for $300 to $500 including a lens at Cosco, Sams or BJ's. What I like about this type camera is that you can change the lens. I purchased a wider wide angle lens that does a great job in small places.
You get a better view of a room or you get all of a bath room in your photo instead of "the sink" or" the Garden tub" I keep this lens on that camera all the time. You can find this tykpe of camera affordable but some of these type cameras can cost $500 to $1000 just for the body. The lens can be expensive. I found my lens on line for a little over $150 but you can spend several hundred dollars for a wider wide angle lens.
