Hi James,

Welcome to Trulia-

Canada and other countries who have free access to the WWW can access real estate websites such as Realtor.com, Trulia, etc...
What kind of other marketing targeted to Canada are you referring to?

Thank you-

Ditto, Canadian buyers are connected to the same www as the rest of the world. If you have knowledge of tax or legal issues a foreign buyer would benefit from, I would use access to this content to connect with a broader base of Canadians, those who are in the early stages of data collection prior to the looking process. Of course you would use much different delivery channel for this communication, but the same www.

I am experiencing more euro buyers than north of the border folks. Same rule applies with the exception that being bilingual will prove to be very beneficial.

There have been agents in my area that have marketed properties or themselves to the Canadian market through other avenues besides the net and have had mixed success. Various oil and money magazines, billboards and even airports. I asked the question b/c I have stayed away from that type of advertising due to unclear guidelines as to what is acceptable in Canada. We are selling a product and while that product may not be for sale in Canada we are marketing it for sale there (without a real estate license). Recently our board has said that with full disclosure it is ok, although still somewhat of a grey area. The web is clearly the way to go, but.........

They use the same websites as US buyers do when looking for homes here. Keep doing the online advertising/marketing and it should fall into place for you. Good question.

I sold a condo here in NYC to a family from Canada. They found my online and contacted me. Your web presence is critical.

I currently utilizze all the major real estate sites: Zillow, Trulia and Realtor.com and create individual web pages for properties, but was looking for any other sort of possible marketing opportunities I may have missed. Since we as agents aren't licensed to sell real estate in Canada I was curious if other agents have had success advertising properties to the Canadian market. After all, Whitefish is 4 hours from Calgary. Thanks for the reponse!
