What was your experience? Was it worth the fees they charge? If you have any info or advice about other lead services I'd love hear about that too. Thanks!
I have been with Reply Lead Service since May 2008. My experience has been anything but positive. I have never before relied on a lead service in my business (23 years), but they gave me the sales pitch, seemed like nice people and so I fell for it. After 16 leads (all of which were either listed with another Realtor before the lead was sent to me, had a bogus phone number and/or bogus email address, and/or didn't want to work with a Realtor at this time), and after assurances that all leads I cancelled for bogus information would be replaced free of charge (which never happened), I decided to cancel my account, which I did on June 7 with the National Sales Manager. Of course, they continued to send me leads, and charge my credit card for them. When I called to complain about this, the National Sales Manager told me that it was a mistake, and it would all be taken care of. She sent me a copy of an email she had generated to her "accounting manager." I never heard anything from the accounting manager, nor did I hear anything from anyone else. I then called on July 7, after receiving another charge for a monthly fee, and two charges for leads I did not receive, and I talked to a young man in the customer service department. He was very nice, and promised me that there had been a glitch in the IT department, and that the IT department had wrongly double-charged everyone for leads generated in the first week of July. I told him that I had not received any leads the first week of July and I wanted a credit for $89.90 plus the month charge for July, credited back to my credit card. He said he would do that, and even sent me an email outlining what was going to happen. (I was to receive 5 free leads - I was to be reimbursed the amounts I was overcharged.) Guess what? None of this happened. Today is the 3rd of August, and I have just called and told them that if I didn't hear back from them by end of business today, I would be seeing my state's attorney general tomorrow morning. Nothing. Beware of these people. They are not honest, and the left doesn't know what the right is doing. Supposedly all of the emails, and phone conversations I had with "customer service" people were forwarded to supervisors, none of whom ever responded. Now I have received yet another charge to my credit card for monthly service for August. And they sent me another lead today, which, of course, has a bogus email address, and the phone is a disconnect. LOL - really nice people!!!?!
I did not have positive experience however that is my personal opinion, others may have been successful. Good luck !
Hi Damon. No matter which lead service you are using, none of them is as good as the leads that you generate yourself. I know that's probably not what you want to hear, but it's the reality. I would not invest in buying leads. I get several call a week from people who want to sell me leads and everybody promises you the sky, but none of them really deliver. Most people don't really go to the Internet to find an agent. They go to the Internet to find properties and some of them may fill out a form to get information, but they don't provide the information because they can't find an agent on their own. They just want the property information. That's just my experience and I personally will not pay for leads. If they are based on a referral fee basis with no up-front cost, I might think about it, but most of them have some kind of a per lead or monthly fee. Good luck.
Damon,
I listened to the Reply sales pitch about a month ago. I asked some specific questions - would the lead be only "sold once", I was assured that the leads were very very well screened. I was told I would get an immediate email as a lead was on-line. So I agreed to sign up for a month.
Well... no immediate email - in fact the 1st 2 leads I found when I went on-line to my Reply account. One lead had been there for 2 days- with no notification. That happened with every lead I got.
After a week - of trying to contact people, I found that 2 were already listed with an agent (well before the lead was sent) 1 had a bogus phone number.
So- from my experience a waste of money and time. I cancelled my account - but am still disputing a charge I was told would not be on my account.
My best lead service- referrals from past clients.................................
Good Luck
