First time home buyer seminars?

Asked by Marilyn Bell, Nashville, TN Mon Jul 20, 2009

Realtors, I'd love your help!

My company is considering hosting first time homebuyer seminars in ourmodel home. I was hoping some other pros out there could share their experiences with regards to the following:

What days/times seem to be most effective?
What topics do you feel the homebuyers are most concerned about?
What literature/links/guests are the participants most interested in?

Hi Marilyn,

I host First Time Buyer Seminars on a monthly basis and Saturdays are always popular. Don't make them more than 1.5 hours and bring some breakfast donuts, coffee and juice. Also, talk about what is popular right now, the $8,000 Tax Credit, Down Payment Assistance for First Time Buyers, and bring some brochures regarding First Time Buyers and the importance of being properly represented.

Thank you, ladies! I am excited to begin hosting the seminars. Do you think pre-registration is necessary? Or does that limit attendance?
