Do you give your Buyer clients a gift at or after closing? If so, how much do you spend and what kind of gift is well received?

For this question, assume that you did NOT represent them on a sale as well.

Hi Brent,

This is a very good questions for us to answer and share.

I do gift basket, flowers, cookie, and welcome booklet with some good reaturant gift cards and guide for my clients.

Sometimes I buy their kids a toy as well just really depends on the relationship we have with them.

Here to many closings for all of us.

I give them autographed footballs by my hubby who is a former Cowboy at closing. If they do more than one transaction with me, I give them maybe an autographed Cowboy book or a jersey. They all love it!

Gift cards to Lowes or Home Depot are good, bottle of wine, if they are buying a house with a pool, maybe some beach towels would work.

Well, Liz, that's a hard act to follow!

I've been giving a specific bird feeder I found that I like - squirrel proof - and a big bag of hull free bird seed. People seem to like it. It's about a $40 package, which I think is appropriate.

A few times when that didn't seem right, I've sent flowers or a restaurant gift certificate.

I have to say, there have been a couple of transactions when I think we were both happy to see the end of each other, and I've been less inclined to go out of my way, but I still acknowledge the new homeowner with a housewarming gift that I could mail. One was a Home Depot gift card; the other was a restaurant gift card.

Carla, where do you find the birdfeeders? That's what I need. What are they called?

Wow! I agree that I would like to buy a home through Liz just to get the football! That's terrific!

I usually give a house plant as it adds something "green" to the home and is lasting. Hopefully, they will remember me as they take care of it and enjoy it.

Best wishes!

I give a gift to my clients after each transaction. I also give a gift to the loan rep when I work with buyers.

I have a lady who makes awesome customized gift baskets. I spend aproxx $50.00 per basket.

I also make a donation to my client's favorite charity in their name in the amount of $200.00.

Much Success to YOU!!!

Hi, I usually do and have decided to stay away from food and liquor. You never know who may have a problem with driniking or food. I like to give practical and thoughtful gifts. You can go to and make a photo of the home into a puzzle. I also like gift cards and things like that. Keep in mind the IRS only lets us write off up to 425 per client...

Hi Brent,

I do give a gift at the title company. It depends on how easy of a client they were. Bottles of wine and gift cards usually make them happy.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.
