shapes in sizes and so do the prices! I personally have had little success but if thats the case why do agents pour money into something with sub par results..
So do they work?

David; They have worked for me. I have sold two listings because the Buyer's Agents received the email flyers that I sent, I believe through Listing Widget.
Local email marketing is a good idea, and here's why... You have to remember, that in large local metro areas there can be in excess of 10,000 Agents and all it takes is 1 to come forward with a Buyer. Yes, there are a certain number of Agents that check their local MLS system daily, however most agents don't. Receiving and reviewing local properties I believe to be a good practice. Sending to your local area I think is equally important; it singles your property our from the crowd and frankly is another tool to promote to your clients you'll use on their behalf. Granted, those that complain about receiving properties from distant Agents; an Agent in Texas has very little need or interest in a property in Iowa, however, and Agent in NYC may have an interest in a South Florida seasonal/vacation property.
Like anything, reasonable and responsible marketing efforts should always be followed. But know that email marketing is actually a fairly new method for Agents, so if you're in Real Estate, don't expect mailings to be curbed, but know it will grow.
Email marketing Professional to Professional can have many uses; try using it to create you're own referral network, publish newsletters, etc... don't ignore the tool, embrace it and use it strategically.
Don't ignore or delete the emails you might get from other Agents, study them, follow them, see how they are being used. Ya never know, you might learn a thing or two and learn how to better your own marketing efforts.
Any ways.. just some food for thought :)
Hi David,
I guess the right answer depends on who is receiving them. I get lots of those every day and do open them. Some are related to my area but for some reason i also get listings very far from me. I have used blast flyer emails in the past, with a price reduction and got an offer from an agent the following day.....so it is probably a hit and miss strategy.
Good luck

I think they are a waste of money. If you are a good Realtor, you check MLS daily to see new properties in the areas that you cover. Do you really want more emails about properties that are sometimes located 2,000 miles from you?
I get listing widgets from as far away as Chicago and Arizona, for $500k houses! Why are these agents spending all this money?
I suppose if the emails are really targeted to your buyers and perhaps local agents it is ok. But 100, 500, 2000 miles away? Not so much!
I tag those Email flyers as spam as soon as they come in. I am too busy to be sorting through them all, and I hate unsolicited email.
Hello David,
I use the Listing Widget. I think it's a great way to get your listing seen. I have gotten showings/call/interest on listings many time from sending blast flyers. I recommend them.

I get a lot of these as well. I will look at the ones that are in my area, but the ones from out of area go directly into the dump. I think some of these eflyer companies just send them everywhere without regard to relevance.
