Do Zillow's "Agent Profiles" work? This is where Zillow puts your profile in certain zips. I swear they only provide good leads when

I complain. I had a Western suburb zip and have great client reviews in my profile. Zillow only sent me buyers looking for homes under $80k in undesireable areas of Chicago proper. -- Then I complained/declined payment and they started sending me leads, not only in the suburb I was in but in the suburb that I was on a waiting list for! -- I am convinced that they are messing with me so I call in with a new Credit Card number and they can start charging me again. -- The $200/mo is nothing if I can actually get leads, but not worth it if they cherry pick who they are going to send leads to. (Fyi, I tried the same program with Trulia and didn't get 1 lead.)

Depends, there are more looky-loo than real leads.

I use them both and get good and bad results from both. The postives far exceed the negatives.

Trulia routes the leads to the people that pay for the pro service. I'm on a wait list for a specific zip code so good to know that you haven't had great luck.

UPDATE - A Day after complaining to Zillow, I had a bonifide buyer call on a home for sale in the zip code that I have been on a waiting list for. I showed him the home and he may make an offer! -- The buyer said that when he saw the home for sale on Zillow, my ad stuck out (strange since I didn't get that Zillow zip area yet). Now I am convinced that Zillow is dangling a carrot in front of me so I pay the $120 that I owe them + another $200/mo for the zip code that I have been waiting for. -- Now the question is do I take the bait? Maybe I should pour more money into Trulia and give them another chance since they are more honest (although I haven't gotten any leads from my Trulia profile yet).

Hi John,

I have to agree to some degree about Zillow. I too found that when I complain I got better leads. Trulia on the other hand is great!

I get some good leads some bad, but that is the nature of the beast.

Hope this helps!

If they worked I don't think a zip code would be available.

I have no faith in lead generators from anyone. All seem to want your money and provide names that never return calls or emails.
