Dallas area agents: Where should I move my license?

I have a broker who is very hands-off. I used to like that, but I've realized recently that it's not just because he knows that's how I like it, it's because he literally does not have time for me. I've been licensed and active for 8 years and don't do near the volume I think I could do if I had just the tiniest bit of support from my sponsor. Can anyone in the Dallas area help?

I don't want to pay a huge split but I realize 100% commission offices will most likely be very similar to the one I'm leaving. I want an office that gives me an option to come in and work the phones but doesnt require it, that allows me to use the office to meet with clients, that provides some sort of help generating leads, and that doesnt charge an arm and a leg for monthly fees or a crazy high commission split. I know this sounds like a lot to ask, so I appreciate any POSITIVE feedback. Thanks!

Call around and schedule some meetings with office managers and team leaders; ensure you pick an office that has the culture you are looking for, one where state of the art training is offered and one where help is always available.

You should look into Keller Williams. I could go on and on as to why, but really you need to talk with the team leader to learn what they have to offer.

Honestly, I stand by Keller Williams because of the outstanding training they offer. I have meet with Ebby, Remax and Coldwell and I found as though KW was the best fit. Right now our Arlington Office is number 3 internationally and as a whole we are placed #1 in the dfw area. Now, with all that in mind what might be a good fit for myself might not be a good fit for you. If there is anything I can do to help just let me know. If you are looking for a positive attitude and culture just look this way.

I agree it is all about being a good fit. Why, worry about commissions and fee's when your happiness is #1 and can't be found everywhere.

I am also a hands off broker unless i give you the lead and process the deal. Than the split is 40/60 in your favour. Otherwise no monthly fee and $220 per deal plus $60 per deal E and o if you don't have your own policy. On the other hand I do make myself available 7 days a week to answer questions you may have.

Thanks everyone for your responses, I didn't expect so many so quickly! I am going to take a few days and gather information on the different offices mentioned and that contacted me directly. Looks like I have several really great brokers to choose from. Thanks again yall!

Hi Monica,

There are so many options out there for you. If you want a broker firm that you can help with the phone to get leads you will have to go with the bigger firm. You will get a lot of support and leadership but really you get what you paid for. You will most likely have a desk fee.

But in my expereience, it is worth it. You really do get what you pay for!

Hey Monica,

Each office is different so I understand why you come here asking for help. You have a good list of things you are looking for.

The office I work for provides much of that. I work for Keller Williams Elite in Highland Park. We have a great office, great team atmosphere, the Keller Williams culture, and a high producing office. We have a wonderful training program that includes the basics but also includes technology training, social media training, etc. at no cost to the agents (Disclaimer: I actually teach some of these).

On the other hand, I have just started a team which provides the rest - leads, transaction coordination, etc. and of course a lot more in depth technology education and training. My partner and I are just looking to bring in another agent, and I'd love to speak with you over lunch or a cup of coffee. Even if you are not interested in our team, I'd be happy to tell you more about our KW office.

I know Mr. Fernandez works at the KW office in Arlington and seems to be doing very well. Every time I'm in the office everyone is smilling and very up beat. Check it out I've been buying investment properties for the last 23 years and can't get enough of the KW atmospher. You get what you pay for....

Make a list of actual questions to ask, narrow your search down to 3 to 5 firms, then ask them all the same questions (put them together in Word format and save for phone interviews).

Interview several Broker's and find a office you feel good in.

Ask many many questions.
