I have a mac (8i won't work right?) and it seems pricey but I like the concept of market snapshot for staying in contact with warm market and I have a website/blog that's niched for green real estate but I want something more general but not cheezy and of course affordable.
I just shopped around and went with realtysoft.com for my website/idx. It was the best deal around. I believe they also give some type of referral bonus (I think maybe a month of free service for both parties), so if you try them out, please give them my name.
For contact management I'm using Market Leader, however it may not be what you're looking for. It's a lead service, but I like the contact management, email/text alerts and pre-formatted content. They also offer a free website at homepages.com that has IDX included. I just started using it since I'm trying to ramp back up after a looooooong maternity leave. I input all my prospects and clients in to the system so that's a big plus for me. I believe they may also have a referral bonus, so mention my name if you go that route! The number is 877-450-0088. I work with Bridget.
However, I'm not sure what the capabilities are with mac, but they're all web based, so I think it shouldn't be a problem.
I have been through the rest of them. Advanced is easy fast and support is great.

The back end is one of the best next to GoDaddy.com
I'd encourage you to research alamode.com
They may the right type of product that you'll need.
Most any company that offers IDX will also offer some kind of contact manager - but not necessarily e-mail. If you want e-mail TP is probably the best. I've been considering Market Snapshot too, but at $99 per month and a year contract I'm still not convinced.
You might look at Point2Agent sites, IDXbroker.com, AgentImage.com, z57.com or alamode.com.
You might also try http://www.GaryDavidHall.com - he's a reseller and can match you with the criteria you are looking for.
Hello Anna,
8i will work on a Mac using the Firefox browser. I tried the TopProducer 8i with Snapshot... unfortunately it seemed to lag and made data entry a little tiresome. Unfortunately tech support was not able to address. That being said my prospects responded positively to SnapShot and my understanding is that 8i has recently been upgraded and is supposed to perform faster.
The cost/benefit balance is always difficult. You could find separate solutions for contact management and your website presence. There are many non-real estate specific CRM solutions as well. Most allow you to create code to automatically import information from your websites to deal with lead generation. Most also have solutions that allow you to created drip campaigns and client touch campaigns. Ultimately the benefit to systems like Top Producer is that for a price they have done the leg work with templates and processes.
It's something that I too have debated... I think just like the houses we show there is no one "perfect" solution.
Most allow for a 30/60/90 trial. My personal recommendation would be to try several programs. Roll up your sleeves and get inside the system to determine if it works for your business.
Also keep in mind that you can also use emulation software like VMWare Fusion, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VMware_Fusion, to run any RE software that you have trouble running on your mac.
Best of luck.
Sincerely,

Hey Anna,
Have you tried The Wise Agent ? I am not using a Mac so I am not sure about programs for them. Best of luck to you on your search.
