Are caravan's working for you?

Asked by Hugo Torres, Arcadia, CA Wed Mar 18, 2009

Every week, our local board of REALTORS get together to caravan homes from 10 to 1 pm. Some have argued that broker caravans are no longer needed because of the information available on-line.

I disagree because it gives the real estate community the opportunity to know one another and get to know the inventory.

Do you out there have a caravan, how does it work? how does it not work?

Caravans are a great way to view your inventory and we can always sell a product better when we know what we are selling!

Caravan is a positive way to expose a new listing to the realtors in the area who have potential buyers. In our region caravans are considered as a way to get valuable informaton from professionals concerning marketing and pricing of a home

We have not caravaned for 6 years, and we never did it for our entire board we have 10000 listings and there is no way to go look at them all. We use virtual tours (which are required at my company) to tour each new listing at our company and in our area if associates want us to see their listings they schedule a brokers open and invite us.
