Agents - how much on average do you spend marketing a listing?

Asked by Erin Stumpf (Attardi), Sacramento, CA Mon Sep 17, 2007

I keep a detailed spreadsheet on each listing I take to track my expenses. In another thread from today, an agent mentioned that he does not "waste" money on newspaper and other print ads, etc. and therefore it is inexpensive to list homes. I do no print ads other that those my company provides, and generally spend $400 on a listing before a house hits MLS, and up to a couple thousand (rare) thereafter depending on how long I have the listing. I also take advantage of every free resource at my fingertips. How about you guys?
