Sounds ideallic. Keep in mind that most things in S.F. are really a short driving distance, but the difference in affordability may be big depending on what you absolutely "must have" versus what you need or where (in the City) you need it, Richmond district offers proximity to everything, including some nice access to parks -- golphing, and the beach, but it tends to get a bit congested.
