San Pedro and Long Beach both have a ton of great originial craftsman homes and both are towns on the water. I don't know about the "most" but they have quite a few in different neighborhoods ranging from several million $ to $350,000.... more
I agree with Patti-there are so many wonderful neighborhoods and so many reasons for people to be in some neighborhoods rather than others. I had one client who bought in CV, south of the 56 in a newer section and loves it. Another client wanted to be close to Torrey Pines HS and wanted to have an older home in an established neighborhood, north of the 56. She wouldn't leave that area. So, it depends on what kind of area you're looking for and what kind of home you want to be in.
A lot of the controversy has died down quite a bit. Here's the SDGE power line website to get all the latest updates and community news. http://www.sdge.com/sunrisepowerlink/index.shtml. Right now, nothing is set in stone so can't really say how property areas will be affected. I do know that I had a client who went into esrow on a property. I found out the proposed line was supposed to be 60 feet from her backyard line. She cancelled escrow and bought another home not so close to the proposed area.
