The biggest drawback to renting today is the lack of available rentals in San Diego county, finding a rental to call home is a challenge. That said, if you wanted to buy ... as of today... there are 208 homes (Manufactured, Mobile, condos and single family homes) under $125,000. You sound like a great first time home buyer and dependent upon your income will possibly qualify for some very nice first time home buyer programs.

I used to work in banking as an executive, I would get very wealthy people coming to me with official looking letters. They won money, someone found millions that is rightfully theirs etc etc. The one thing that drove each of these people to want to believe this letter was real was greed.
My guess is this home you are looking at is an AMAZING deal, under priced by hundreds compared to others in the neighborhood -
