Dear Largosaintke:
You can do it as far as the mortgage is concerned. The more important question is what the co-op board will want to do and that can differ from building to building. Most co-ops will want to view both spouses credit and if one is bad it may scare them.
You will need to pose this question to the management company of each building you are considering and see what their viewpoint is on that. If I can be of further assistance, please contact me direct. Good luck!
Sincerely,

It was DeGraw Street - part of which was renamed Lincoln Place in 1873 after a murder at a house on DeGraw. Kate Stoddard, spurned by her lover Charles Goodrich, shot him in the head after he tried to end their relationship.
Thanks to Brooklyn.com for the info. What I found most unusual about the story is that the couple met through a personal ad in the newspaper. Who knew personal ads were around 140 years ago?... more
No Allison, NYC just keeps moving. It might slow down a little due to the guys looking at the beautiful ladies... But that's about it.

Gowanus is a weird little spot, the only really convenient trains are in Carroll Gardens, the stops mentioned below are more for Boerum hill - Carroll Gardens. However the upside to this area is that the real estate is very unique; many of the homes were built in the turn of the century.... more

Linda pretty much said it all, it is very convenient from all boroughs, and major thruways. You have to remember that good ol Coney Island was in its heyday when the train lines were going up, so it is THE only deep brooklyn area to have a train line, as a matter of fact Train LINES - plural!... more
