Well, as a for sale by owner, you cannot list your home on Trulia.
Only agents may post their listings here.
You may, however, list as a fsbo on Zillow.com
Other options for "listing your house" are:
1. call in some local agents, interview them, discuss their fees, and select the one with whom you feel most comfortable - ask for a written marketing plan so you know in advance what they will be doing for you. Ask how familiar they are with your area, and how much business that have done in the local area.
Once listed, your home should be posted on numerous websites, including, but not limited to - Trulia, Zillow and Realtor.com
Another option is.....
2. list with a flat fee company - they will charge a set/flat rate to list your home, and place it on the multiple listing service, which will give you the most local exposure with all the local agents. You may be expected to handle the selling process on your own, pretty much as if you're a for sale by owner...........or...... they may offer you an a la carte menu of services you can pay additional for.
You will, however, be expected to offer a % (commission) to a buyer's agent who brings in an acceptable offer.
Make sure, if you go the fsbo route, that you educate yourself on the home selling process............there is a lot to learn.
Thank you for the answers. That are great. Let's look at the same situation from buyer's perspective. What are the things a buyer should consider while making an offer on a estate owned property?... more
