We've lived here since April. At first I couldn't sleep, but I don't' hear it anymore. It doesn't run very often but there usually is one around midnight and sometimes at 2 am. I wear silicone earplugs and that does the trick. Our unit is at the back, so maybe 50-100 feet from the train. If they are going very fast, it might shake the house, but I don't feel that anymore either. It only runs rarely during the day, and for a few minutes it might be loud. Other than the rare train, the neighborhood is pretty quiet (except for the construction of new homes, at the moment!)... more
Values around the parlor will drop, probably significantly. As you move out, the depreciation will lessen and Tewksbury is large enough that there should be plenty of areas who see no effect at all.... more
Kevin is correct, there are many new developments being built, or just completed, in Tewksbury. Most of them are on the Andover line and are beautiful homes in the over $500k range. I happen to specialize in that area, so feel free to contact me anytime if I can be of assistance!
