I'm a retired real estate salesperson. The truth is real estate brokers must adhere to all Federal and State Fair Housing Laws. This includes opinions on schools, neighborhoods, crime, etc. Our license is our business and penalties are severe.
What I also recommend in addition to the replies below is to visit the school during morning & afternoon drop off & pick ups. You need to speak with as many parents as possible when they are dropping their kids off in the morning or picking up their children at 3:00. I'm a retired real estate salesperson. Unfortunately it will be very difficult to find a 5 bedroom rental that accepts Section 8. Homeowners would rather sell than rent because renters can damage the home and they are not responsible for it. The homeowner has to pay for and repair any damages. Further, Section 8 funds will not be enough to pay for a 5 bedroom rental. The going rate (if available) would be about $5,000./month or more. A 2 bedroom apartment rental is already about $2,000.... more
I know of several landlords that have accepted these before, but unfortunately they only have 1 bedroom units at the moment. send me an email and I will let you know if I or anyone on my team come across a 3 bedroom.

For so me inexplicable reason, the rental prices for this area has remained relatively low. The landlord will be best served to ask for an affordable rental price, otherwise, the tenants will come in and never pay again or on time. For a 4 bedroom, the rental price should be between $1850 and $2150 depending on who pays the heat and hot water... more
