Read what parents are saying about South Kitsap Christian SchoolThis School is amazing! With an amazing certified teaching staff that use Abeka curriculum for above average scores and christian education. The teachers want to be there if they didn't they Wouldn't work for lower than average salary to keep tuition costs down.
Posted by a parent on 8/8/2013I am a teacher at South Kitsap Christian School. I am a Washington state certified teacher with a BAE degree from Western Washington University. I am weeks away from finalizing my Masters in Special Education. Our curriculum is a popular Christian school curriculum (Abeka - which is reordered new every year) and our students often perform a full grade level above their public school peers. I would be more than happy to present my credentials to anyone who asked, or to share a break-down of our students' standardized test scores.
Posted by a teacher on 2/6/2013This school lacks leadership and therefore creates chaos. The teachers are severely underpaid and curriculum is out-dated. I would not send my child here for any reason. Do not be blinded by the the large church association, the truth is this school is taking advantage of its teachers, several who are uncertified. Ask them for their credentials.

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am writing to provide feedback regarding my recent interactions with some of the staff members at West Hills Stem Academy. While I appreciate the hard work and dedication of the faculty, I have noticed that some of them have displayed a negative attitude towards students, parents, and colleagues. I have observed that some staff members are not as flexible as they could be in accommodating the needs of students and parents and other staff. It is important for the school to be responsive and adaptable to the needs of everyone. In fact, out of all the staff I've interacted with, only half of them were kind and seemingly flexible with working with me. The other half seemed to talk at me. Instead of having an effective and respectful conversation, I left feeling scolded and unwelcome. Furthermore, one staff member, in short, told me that asking for my name was trivial. I felt our interaction was disappointing and unprofessional.I believe that it is important for all staff members to maintain a positive and respectful attitude towards everyone. This not only creates a welcoming and inclusive environment but also helps to build a strong relationship between the school and its community.Other Review10mo ago - East Port Orchard Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers at this school are great overall. The principal is terrible. She is rude, condescending, and can't be bothered even when she is in a meeting that she is supposed to be participating in. She was talking to people in the background during the meeting (Zoom), answered another call, was laughing, and was not focused on the child who was in need of special education services. She needs to retire or quit. I was once in the school picking up a child and was talking poorly about a teacher as well as a student. She is the most unprofessional principal I have ever encountered in my career. If she was not at the school, I believe this school would be one of the best in South kitsap. Unfortunately, since she is still there, it is the worst.Other Review8mo ago - Hidden Creek Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved to hidden creek when my oldest son was in 4th grade. It was a very positive experience for all of us. My son has adhd and the teacher was very willing to work with us and let us know if she noticed him struggling. There has been great communication between teachers and parents. His fifth grade teachers went above and beyond to teach their students with experiences and not just text in a book. My oldest is now in middle school and our youngest is at hidden creek. The teachers have been amazing and all the staff I have interacted with have been nothing but amazing and seem to genuinely love and care for the students. My children have gained self confidence and the school staff encourage them to be self sufficient and also hold themselves accountable for their actions good or bad. We are military and getting ready to move again and I will very much miss this school.Parent Review4y ago - Sidney Glen Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers have been great to work with and everyone seems truly happy to be working there. Our sons teacher is always helpful and every chat we have had with other staff and teachers has been positive. My wife attended Sidney Glen and said its just as great as she remembers and some of the teachers are still there.Parent Review7mo ago - Discovery Montessori

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child has been enrolled since age 2.5 and is now 5. What I appreciate most about Discovery is that the staff don’t give up on the child when they don’t check the box for the “Montessori poster child”. They go above and beyond to try and find what teaching style works best for each of their students.Parent Review5mo ago - Marantha Christian Academy
