She was a nationally-ranked junior tennis player while at AWS and the school was very accomodating to her special scheduling needs, recognizing her athletic talent. The school has wonderful music, art, language and athletic programs. We also are tuition-paying parents, but unlike the other reviewer, we are pleased AWS attempts to mirror society with it's student population, and does not have an elitist attitude, for children must learn to live and learn in the real world, with all types of people and even our children are not perfect. We have two sons attending Annie Wright School and there is no place they would rather be. They feel AWS is their second home. We sent our daughter to Annie Wright for 5 long years. We were one of the few to pay the full price tuition. What we found is that Annie Wright will accept any student at any level if their parents can afford the tuition. Yes your child has to take an entrance exam I can assure you it is all pomp

Our child was consistently board in class because the rate of learning was so slow to accommodate for the children that couldn't keep up. They spent a entire year on multiplication and division. The next year was spent working only on fractions. This is something our daughter was able to learn quickly and was not allowed to progress. Don't waste your money here. Read less

My daughter is now a kindergartner at the Annie Wright School, a place where I see children given the chance to grow and shine academically, artistically, and athletically. The decision to keep our daughter at AWS or not has been excruciating. I have been an insider at the school for a year now, and although I am completely happy with the particular class she is in right now, the rest of it is frankly dismal. As a teacher myself with wide experience, I can say that the

There is no integrated curriculum and teaching methods are typically pretty old-fashioned - of the question-answer variety.
