As a parent of two children at OLG, I am very pleased with the education they have received and with the sense of community that the school offers. The principal is awesome. The school's test scores are quite good, and they typically outperform the rest of the Archdiocese as well as the public schools.
... Read more OLG alumni generally attend the high school of their choice. If there is an area for improvement, it is the volunteer requirement - it is quite high, and the volunteer burden could be better distributed throughout the community. It seems that the 80-20 rule applies - 80 percent of the volunteer work is done by 20 percent of the community. Personally, though, the volunteer hours can be good social time, and the benefits of the community are well worth the effort. Read less

My daughter has been a student at OLG for over 4 years, and we are very pleased. The teachers exhibit a strong commitment to students and Catholic principles. It is a small school that provides a relatively good selection of extracurricular activities, with the benefit that your child will not get
... Read more 'lost' in a crowd. I've noticed they monitor progress as children advance to the next grade, with weaknesses addressed; and strength's nurtured. There is a full time school counselor on staff who is a wonderful resource as well. Parent participation is required in the form of committment hours, a norm for catholic schools. If your are new to the Seattle area - so were we and our experience was good, our daughter was welcomed by her class and teacher, and her classmates' parents welcomed us too. Thoroughly disappointed by this school. They simply couldn't teach my daughter who in their words was a 'smart child.' I found their attitude to be very harsh and the concept of positive reinforcement was lost on them. I have to say that some of the teachers were outstanding but most were mediocre. Parent
... Read more involvement is compulsory (50 hours a year)otherwise you pay higher fees. I felt slightly taken for granted as a volunteer possibly because there are so many parents volunteering in the first place. My child was involved in after school soccer which I found to be excellent as she really enjoyed it. Overall I wouldn't recommend this school even though it gets good results in the state tests. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Before/After School

Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
