Some kids come to OCS with baggage & needs academically that NO private Christian school is equipped to handle, so yes, that student will do better in a public school where they can receive special help. As for Christian teaching, find me a public school that begins/ends each day with public prayer;

A workbook is used for Bible class, (yes, the Bible is a 'workbook' also,) but to state that that is the extent of Christian teaching that goes on at OCS is CLEARLY the words of a disgruntled parent/ex employee who didn't get her way! How would she know the climate throughout the day? Please refer to the other reviews and not let one ex-employee taint what could be an outstanding opportunity for your child! Read less

This school is a SDA influenced community not just a school. Many rating are based on the priority of SDA education and not reality or academics. Children do not get thorough instruction or individualized attention. The have multiple grade classrooms, so its very easy for academic issues to go un noticed,
... Read more or if noticed not addressed. There are a few great teachers, but feel their talents are limited by the time it takes to teach 3 grades at a time. My child has been playing catch up after attending for 4 years. His over all self esteem, self perception and scores shot up after his transition to a public school. As far as Christian teaching other than Friday 'worship' expect a workbook. Do your research first. My family remains Christian. I'm positive God would want my son to reach his potential for education. O.C.S is not it. Read less

I have watched students enter Olympia Christian School with indifferent or negative attitudes and in the course of 4-5 months see their attitudes totally change for the better! I have attended this school for 2 years both 9th and 10th grades. The classes are challenging enough to keep me interested and the teachers are very caring and willing to help out. I would recommend this school to anyone, whether you're 7th day Adventist or not this school will welcome you with open

My child has attended Olympia Christian School for 4 years now. The school provides a very healthy environment for the children. The learning program is excellent. the teacher-student realationships help alot.My daughter is in The bellchoir and The sign language choir and she enjoys every moment of it.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
