I had a child EC middle school during the first year it opened. Compared to other schools is this price range, I feel that EC middle school is not as challenging as it should be. The large study body makes it feel like a public school and also makes it difficult for the teachers to know their students.
... Read more The other Catholic middle schools that I am familiar with have impressed me with their attention to each student's scholastic progress and overall wellbeing. I believe EC has good intentions and could be excellent over time if they choose. However, I also feel that it is possible that their mission could be to serve most kids and get those kids into average colleges, rather than to raise the bar and help their students acheive their highest potential. EC is overpriced compared to other Cath. schools whose academics are much more rigorous. Read less

I'm a student at EC, and I am largely dissapointed. The vast majority of classes are much to easy without really any challenge. The middle school until this year (due largely to parental complaints), had virtually no extracurricular activity. Parents are almost never involved as well. Ssfety is also

Not a great school if your child seeks a rigorous college-prep program. It does have great a community building program. Most students end up in many in-state institutions, which is not bad at all. However, if your child is looking challenging classes then this school might no be the best choice.

I went to Eastside Catholic for 1 year. It wasn't the experience I was hoping for. The classes were not that challenging and I felt the teachers were not really pushing me. When my essays were graded there was nothing in the way of comments or feedback--just a big fat letter. When I transferred out I

EC is a great school, I transferred here from an international school overseas, and immediately felt at home. I'm a junior. The academics are good, especially the science programs. The school also offers courses you can take for college credits like UW French or Spanish 103. I would not say that this

The athletics program is okay, many sports offered, but compared to other schools in the area, our football team isn't that great (in my opinion). Our volleyball team, though, is excellent! Overall, I love EC. Class of 2011! Read less

Eastside Catholic is an outstanding school with it's faith based community and inclusive environment. Class ratios of 1 teacher to 30 students are common in the public schools. Eastside maintains a 1 teacher to 22 students. Teachers who fail to perform are not offered positions to continue to

Please remember, public schools can do NOTHING about poor performing teachers. The teachers union controls staffing at public schools. Students at Eastside are focused on academic excellence, relationships and leadership. My children are challenged by their course work and can easily access teachers for assistance. I m particularly impressed with the respect and compassion the students have for each other. Leadership opportunities are available for all. ESCHS offers a great education and wholesome environment. All the students love the school. Proof to me of Eastsides excellence is that my son went from a high scorer on standardize test to extremely high scorer. He has bloomed academically and socially.
