My daughter graduated from Meadowbrook three years ago and is excelling in high school. Due to both of our experience at Meadowbrook, my entire family prayed that my grandson would go there. He made it! The principal was strict, yet fair and very very concern about all of the students. The teachers
... Read more were caring, gave 100% of themselves to all the students, regardless of whether a child was in his or her class or not, and encouraged each and every one of kids to do their best. The kids were outstanding and the friends my daughter made there are still strong today. This school is Norfolk Public School System hidden'Jewel' and I would tell any parent, if your child is willing to work and if you can look beyond the uniforms (which I think is the thing yet), this is the place for your child. Meadowbrook is an amazing school. Although it is very, very tough and pretty prestigious. I'm an eighth grader here and have been going here since sixth grade. ... Read more in, you're so frickin' excited you can't stand it! After a while, some of the teachers are so annoying you just wanna leave, but you don't. When it's your final year and graduation is around the corner, especially if you're a girl, you find yourself more upset than usual. I know for me it's because I've become so close to this school and to everyone here, even those you can't stand. I've recently found myself in tears because I'm so attatched. This school provides a closeness that you can't get anywhere but here. We love it alot. Read less

I gave this a 4 because it is missing one crucial thing, extracurrical activies for the kids mainly athletic sports, if only they would address that and make it easier for our kids to be bussed to a school that would allow them use of their fields.

... Read more he is taking Spanish II...in the 11th grade' About the person below me, I have no idea who it is. But it is someone from Meadowbrook because the uniform policy is VERY strict. I have never gotten bullied or picked on...ever. The people are really nice. I went to Meadowbrook for my 6th, 7th, and now my 8th grade year. During Graduation everyone cries. I just started at MBK this 8th grade year ( transfer from Blair ) and I luv it! The teachers are awesome!The students are really nice and activities are great. The only thing that bugs me is how strict the uniform poicly is I mean we cant even wear colored tank tops or have like a polka dot on our socks.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
