Ghent caught and helped my son through dyslexia and now he is in 8th grade there and is in all honors classes and goes to the high school in the morning for math. I don't believe it would have even been caught if he was at any other school. I love Ghent...

I am so thankful I learned about this school before my son even started. He has now in 8th grade. We are actually sad this will be his last year at Ghent. high academic standards, great kids, dedicated teachers. a great alternative to the district schools in norfolk. however, research on my norfok district school, shows better test-scores and a higher rating among parents.

I just want to add that the sibling rule has changed. Sadly, a younger sibling in not guaranteed acceptance at Ghent with their older sibling. A lottery is used now, children are picked randomly. Ghent is a great school, but this is devastating parents who were hoping their children would be together. ...  Read more

Highly focussed institution. The teachers care and probe the students to learn. Concepts taught to think out of the box and so critical thinking is developed. Art and music programs are available.
