We came to this school last year as veterans of 2 other Catholic schools. This is the best by far. Our children, in elementary school, are doing extremely well. ... Read more there is also an emphasis on being a peacemaker and doing good to others. There are many opportunities for positive reinforcement from the teachers and principal. They have recently begun an accelerated reading program and they have a great science lab, library and broadcast studio that the students utilize. There is also a dedicated health care clinic staffed by an RN and parents, many of whom are also RNs. It really is very welcoming here. If I had one complaint, it would be that sometimes the communication between school and home isn't as thorough as it could be. Read less

I am a recent graduate of Christ the King School and am now in a magnet medical science program in Norfolk Public schools. I loved CTK and received a great education! I was so prepared for High School that I am now making straight A's. The best thing CTK gave me was the ability to make the right choices

My son currently goes to this school. He was in pre-K3 because his birthday fell 5 days short of him being able to go to pre-K 4. When I talked to the administrator at first she told me that there was nothing she could so about it and then in the same breath she said well I have to look at his birth
... Read more certificate, like I don't know when my child's birthday. While he was in pre-K3 he was outside most of the time. This school really decreased what my child learned before he went to this school. I don't know how it is for the grade school, but the pre-K curriculum is not satisfactory. Read less

In the area of mathematics, CTK and Norfolk State University (NSU) have established a partnership. CTK is no different from other schools across the nation in its mathematics offerings. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course.
