PCHS has been a fabulous experience for my two boys. There are amble sports opportunities for every child to participate in, numerous clubs and groups, as well as many leadership opportunities. The school well prepares students for college and beyond. Classes are small and every child gets as much help
... Read more as needed to succeed from teachers and staff. The honor system ensures students are aware of their actions and encourages them to make positive decisions. We've had a wonderful experience with this school and have one more child to put through. With the bus coming from the southside, transportation is not as daunting as first look. Read less

Peninsula Catholic High School is an outstanding school. My son has always struggled in school, but he is doing above average since his move to PC. The teachers make themselves available to help the students succeed. The students love the school...because they have fun! It's not free like public school,

Both of our children attended Peninsula Catholic High School . For us, Peninsula Catholic was kind of a mixed bag. From an academic perspective, I would say that their English program was excellent; their math and science programs, however, were just okay. From a spiritual perspective, PC was disappointing.

Read more For the most part, the spiritual emphasis tended to be mostly on teaching the students about religion (rules, memorization of religious facts, etc.) and a lot of spiritual "going through the motions," rather than encouraging students to have a relationship with God and to live their faith. Both of my children were put off by the religious instruction at Peninsula Catholic and turned their backs on Catholicism before they finished at PC. To be fair, there was one religion teacher at PC who really did try to nurture his students' faith, rather than just teach them about "religion". Unfortunately, both of my children were in their last year at PC by the time they had his class, and by that time it was, as they put it, "too late." Read less

Our parents choose Peninsula Catholic because they are prepared to invest in their student s future, even if it means financial sacrifice. PC has a student body that is readily accepting of others and ready to help each other in any way they can. The faculty is dedicated to their students in the classroom and through their invovement with many extra-curricular activities. Each year the administration strives to incorporate new programs and enhance the current offerings so that students have the best chance of success once they leave the halls of PC. There is no doubt that Peninsula Catholic is the finest private school on the peninsula and I am proud to be a part of this long-standing (108 year) tradition. Read less

My son has been at this school for two years now and I am happy I made the decision to send him here. The school climate is one that encourages leadership from all students. PCHS is one of the most accepting, loving and nurturing environment you will find. All students are accepted for who they are and treated the same. All students are given the same opportunities and chances to succeed. The new principal (principal for 4 years now) is great and the school is growing.

We knew we made the right high school choice when our college-aged children came home and thanked us for the education they got at PCHS! They were amazed at how far ahead of their classmates they were in research and writing skills, as well as in science and mathematics!

This school has a horrible mathematics program. Students here should be encouraged to forgo taking math courses here, and take them in college instead. A few of the religious members of the students and faculty do not respect the non-Catholic or atheist students. If you want your child to grow in faith,
... Read more do not send them here. The only two ways that your child's faith will be altered is in the closing of their mind, or in making them atheist or severely doubt the existence of a God (happened to me and a lot of others). Read less

P.C.H.S. is one of the best in Virginia. The teachers and administrative are excellent.Even if a child has a disibility the staff works well with the student.You couldn't ask for a better school than P.C.H.S..
