This school is excellent for students in preschool and elementary school. The morals and values are stressed, in keeping with the tenets of Catholic school education. The middle school grades, however, are lacking. There is little differentiation in the classroom and there are limited opportunities

My oldest child has attended SHS since 1997. We have been so pleased with the values and morals he has been taught through the years. The dedication of the teachers is remarkable. Kim Meadows is an excellent principal. Her love of the students is evident by her encouragement, praise, and support.

This is the best school in the area! SHS has now been designated a 2006 No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Secretary of Education. This means SHS students rank in the top 10 percent in the nation and SHS is the only private or public school in south central VA to receive this designation.

My child loves it and has flourished at this school. If you are looking for a school with strong academics, lots of parental involvement, safe environment, and a caring faculty, then SHS is for you. Wonderful school! Parents are very involved. The leadership is strong and teachers are dedicated. Your child will have to work hard but will be supported. We love the family environment and feel assured that our children are receiving a great education.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
