... Read more The outdated facilities are a major concern. This rural community has been vigorously searching for ways to fund new middle and high school facilities. The current campus, however, is completely wireless, every high school student is equipped with a personal, Dell laptop, the high school is fully accredited, and in 2006, the school opened the doors of it's new Luther P. Jackson Educational Center - a beautiful addition that is enjoyed not only by students, but by residents throughout the entire region seeking to further their education. Read less

I had the privledge of working in the Cumberland County School System for 17 years and found it to be a very positive experience. I have found that many people like to critize the system without knowing the facts. The teachers are very knowledgeable and the education is there if the students put forth
... Read more the effort to obtain it. Parental support is very low and this is a negative for the school system. It is extremely important that parents become involved in the education of their children. If you have questions or concerns, there is always someone to address these issues. Please do not sit back and critize the system, but take an active part to make the system even better. Read less

This school lacks not only accredidation but knowledge of how to run a school. My son has been bullied and teased to a point that he has no self esteem and must see a councelor. My children where they once were happy and thriving are now angry, frustrated and unhappy with school. This is sad given
... Read more the fact that at home with our new home and land. Our kids have more room to run and play and use their imaginations. I have found that unless you file complaints with the Dept. of Education you get nowhere. I am seeking to get my kids scholarshipped in to private schools. Read less

I am a student here at Cumberland High school, and i love it here. I have gone to the cumberland school system my entire life. From the age of Day care to now my 11th grade year. I would not change anything that has happened to me while at this school. Its the best offered. Even so now with the Laptops.

With low teacher student ratios it works, every teacher knows every student. Its just how i like it! So if you want the school where ur student goes unnoticed.. this isnt for you. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Special Education Classes
A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
