Kids should'nt be suspended or given detention for being normal and carrying a bag or wearing a coat. I agree with the rating 6 out of ten just because Carver needs to lighten up. This achool has a lot going for it- some great teachers, lots of cool activites and an awesome principal. The redistricting has made a huge impact on Carver- all for the better.

I'm an eight grader here and everything is great. It's a very safe school with fairly new installed cameras that were installed last year for the protection of students. We have a great principal who actually won Principal of the Year in Virginia of 2008.

Great school . Lots of redistricting, so less students (compared to previous years). The principal, who is fairly new at Carver, is fantastic. He and his staff have made many great strides in making carver a top school.

I went to Carver from 2001-2004. I enjoyed learning there. I was a frequent participant in the chorus program & hand chimes & I must say that I gained a lot of friendships & a lot of confidence, even for someone as shy as I was. Excellent, excellent, excellent school. Both my children loved it, had great success and friendships, and were more than prepared for honors and AP level studies in high school. I'm actually a student there ,but carver is a great place to learn and the teachers art fantastic! Amazing there aren't any fights really and its just a safe place for kids to go and learn. Discipline is great and it helps you know not to do it again. After school activities make you more involved with

This is my son's first year at this school also. He was put in all honors classes although never been in them before. A couple of times we have asked the teachers for extra help when he didn't understand something but didn't get much of a response besides being told to look at their notes. They don't

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
