I have been attending LHS since i was in Kindergarten. It has been a wonderful expierience for me. Not only do i get a great education with great teachers who support me all the way, i get great friends who are always there as well. I participate in all athletics, and have a great time! After having my children attend at least one other very pricey (mediocre) private school and a blue ribbon public school - I can say that without a doubt Linton is the best in terms of academics and community. I have children in both the lower and upper school and have been impressed with the teachers

Our child attended LHS. Like all schools it has good and bad aspects. It's not just a private school it's a private very Catholic school. Academics on the whole are great however, don't expect that your child will have much of a childhood outside of school. Hours of homework and lengthy assignments
... Read more are the norm. In the upperschool many grades are given with a numeric-subjective system i.e. if the teacher happens to like what you produce you're in luck. Uniform, shoe and hair requirements are militaristic - they measure with rulers! Read less

My child attends LHS even though she could go to the well-regarded Fairfax County Schools for free. LHS not only provides an excellant academic atmosphere, there is a true focus on recognizing the child as an individual. Children are encouraged to develop a sense of community, charity, and kindness
... Read more in addition to academic excellance. Also, the art and music programs are very strong,as well as the sports programs. Quality, loving before and afterschool care is available on sight. Parents are welcome and encouaraged to be very involved with the school -- it is a 'neighborhood school' in the sense that everyone looks out for one another. My daughter attended Linton Hall school as a Pre-K student. The level of education was superior. The teachers are kind and innovative people who love to be there. The tuition is very reasonable compared to other private schools in the area.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School

Vocation/Technical Curriculum
Vocational and/or technical courses offered within a comprehensive school, usually a senior high school.
Special Education Classes
A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
