... Read more06/07 was my son's first year at Hayfield and he had a terrific experience. His teacher, Miss McMullin - first grade, engaged the kids to make learning fun. The school promotes safety and social responsibility and the parents are involved in school activities. We are looking forward to second grade! Read less

... Read more move into so that he could attend Hayfield. The staff is helpful and nice, kids are great, and there's always activities for them. Safety is a priority, and I feel they really care about the kids. The school is on the small side, which I think really makes a difference. Many of the kids live in the neighborhood, so it has that small-town feel to it, but the education is top-notch. We couldn't be happier! Read less

We were new to Hayfield this year and have been very impressed by the teachers, reading instructors, specialty teachers and the leadership of the principal and staff. ... Read more Ms Casey). She is terrific. Each grade does something special..the Third Graders do Mighty Minds Play to make getting ready for SOL testing a less stressful experience. My son has benefited from the gifted and talented programs and has made a lot of friends. parent involvement is great. I highly recommend this school. Read less

We love this school! We are a military family and have moved for our first time. Because of this we thought our daughter would have a difficult time adjusting to a new school. Her third grade teacher, Ms. Casey, made the transition very smooth starting from the 'Open House'. The first day of school
... Read more I dropped off a very anxious little girl who wanted to move back home, but I picked up a confident young lady who wanted to walk home with her new friend (thanks to Ms.Casey. Parent involvement is super, staff and faculty are professional and supportive. My daughter is being educated in safe and loving environment. School to Home communication is great. Special Area subjects follow the standards for the State and collaborate with homeroom teachers for special themes . Awesome school! * In 2006-2007 Virginia used the Standards of Learning (SOL) tests to assess students in reading and math in grades 3 through 8, in writing in grades 5 and 8, in science in grades in 3, 5 and 8 and in history/social science in grades 3 and 8. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
