The teachers are able to provide one-on-one support, athletic teams are available to nearly anyone who wishes to participate and student leadership positions are attainable. Patriotism and traditions are deeply rooted in Parowan High School. There, I gained a sense of who I am as an American and as a citizen. Academic achievement is important to the teachers and administrators of Parowan High School as well. I would recommend Parowan High to anyone who wants a great education and wonderful opportunities. ... Read more the school even more. If you choose to live in a small town, then you must also accept a small school. The number for sports activities and academic activities may be smaller than most 2A schools, but that does not mean that this school does not have the heart. We recently moved to Parowan and have 4 children in the schools. Coming from a very large metro area on the east coast we had no idea what to expect from a much smaller school district. The students and staff have been very supportive and friendly towards my children. The smaller classes seem to
... Read more provide an opportunity to focus more closely on the work as well as ample time for the teacher to spend time with each student. My children feel they are being acedemically challenged but more importantly, they seem to be getting the attention and time they need from their teachers. So far we have been extremely pleased. ... Read more me succeed at one of the hardest academic schools in the country. Move-ins are only not accepted if they don't accept the students already there. It is a great school for any student who really wants to be part of a family. But for those students, like probably the one described by the parent that wrote the other review, who are lazy and too prideful to try and be friendly, life will be hard at this school. Read less

There is very little follow through with the leadership in this school. Because it is a small town, the Principal seems to cower under the parental pressure of a few hard to handle students . These students make it almost impossible to reach the young people in the school who really want to learn.

Read more Peer pressure is great in the community for the adults as well as the students and most of the leadership and teachers are related (husband, wife, mother, daughter, etc.) It is a very hard school for outsiders to become part of. Many of the teachers try very hard to teach respectfully, but become discouraged because of lack of parental support. I do have a child in this school and worry about her education. We have attended other schools so we have something to compare to. Read less
* In 2007-2008 Utah used the Utah Criterion-Referenced Test (CRT) to test students in grades 1 through 11 in language arts, in grades 1 through 7 in math, in grades 4 through 9 in science and upon completion of certain courses in grades 8 through 11. The CRT is a standards-based testing program, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Utah. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Before/After School

Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
