job corps isn't for just anyone, It's for people who wants to better themselves. Job corps is what you make ot your either going to like it or your not!! This is my second time in Job Corps. First of all, Job Corps isn't for everyone. But as for me, I'm very greatfull for the Job Corps program. I attended Job Corps from Sept. of 03' from Aug. of 04', and while I was there, I accomplished many things. I recieved my CNA licence, became a dorm leader and a student mentor. While at Job Corps
... Read more you learn self dicipline, time management, social skills, and responsibility. The food is alright but you get used to it and the center does have frozen foods and a food store. They also have a student clothing and [a] convenience store with great prices. I'd like to say in closing, you make it what you like it to be. If you set out that it's going to be a bad experience, then it will. But if you set out for it to be a good experience then it's going to be a good experience. Read less

Clearfield Job Corps was an experience. It is a good school and trade education center. They have a wide selection of trades. I attended in 1999 and 2000. The food isn't very good, but you learn to like it. There are lots of fun things to do when you are not in school. There is a movie theatre and pool
... Read more hall on campus, also a gym and a dance club. The living is alright you share a room with one to 7 people. There is a married dorm for couples who enter married or get married while attending. I met my husband at Job Corps. The people come from everywhere and are a little hard to get used to but overall it is a fine school. I enjoyed my time there. And you are allowed to leave as long as you follow the rules. It's not like a prison at all. Read less

I attended Clearfield Job corps and it turned my life around. I was able to get my high school diploma and then join the military. Many of the skills I learned while attending and living at the center were valuable to me on the outside world and in the military. The only complaints I would have are of
... Read more issues of safety and the quality of food served. If your child has dropped out of school and/or looking for a place to start a new life, Job Corps is the way to go. Mind you, it will be a drastic change from normal setting and life as you are confined to the center and are living with up to 60 others in a bay with wall lockers serving as partitions. If I remember correctly, there are 11 bays and a separate area for females. Many while attending compared it to being in a prison with a courtyard so prepare yourself and/or your child for a change of comfort and way of living. Ages of people living at the center range between 16 and 24 years old. Read less

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Vocation/Technical Curriculum
Vocational and/or technical courses offered within a comprehensive school, usually a senior high school.
Special Education Classes
A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
