Read what parents are saying about Fort Worth AcademyMy son is in 5th grade and absolutely loves going to school everyday! He is being challenged academically and participates in athletics, fine arts and social activities. We love the welcoming environment and the diversity of students and families. FWA is gem right here in Fort Worth, Texas!

Posted by a parent on 10/28/2018We chose FWA because it truly offered a personalized learning approach for our son. More than just the words in the brochure or the presentation, they delivered on all of their promises. Our son showed up as a shy, quiet boy and left FWA with self-confidence and a great foundation with which to continue his learning. He is now graduating from high school, after coming a member of the National Honor Society and is on his way to Curry College outside of Boston with a significant merit scholarship. FWA is a gem within the Fort Worth Educational Community--there would be other place I would have my children go.
Posted by a parent on 4/29/2016I have three children, now ages 12, 14, and 16. I started all of my children in a Jewish pre-school that went through kindergarten and transitioned them to Fort Worth Academy in first grade. Before choosing Fort Worth Academy for our oldest child, my wife and I visited all of the local private schools that had no religious affiliation. Since we are practicing Jews, the local Christian schools were not an option for us. After visiting the secular private schools within a few miles of our house, we selected Fort Worth Academy. The experience has been terrific. Our children has have learned a great deal. My older daughter had an excellent foundation for the Honors Program at Paschal High School, where she is now. Fort Worth Academy is flexible in the way it addresses the particular needs of individual children. Our children are all different. Our middle daughter is academically gifted. She was way ahead in mathematics. The school recognized that talent and accelerated her a grade level in math a couple of years ago. We wanted our children to study Hebrew language, in addition to Spanish. About 12years ago, a Hebrew language programs was established as an extra-curricular, non-credit elective. My wife and I took over the program 10 years ago (when our oldest daughter enrolled) and it continues. 8-10 students participate each semester, not all of them Jewish. Fort Worth Academy provides free space for a Hebrew teacher to teach Hebrew language 2 days each week for families who want it. The teacher's salary is paid by parent contributions and by support from the local Jewish community. The Administration works with us coordinate the Hebrew program with the regular school schedules of the kids who enroll. The flexibility and cooperation is gratifying. For a small school, Fort Worth Academy had a good athletic program. All of our children are athletically active. My older daughter played volleyball and basketball at Fort Worth Academy. She now plays club volleyball and plays for Paschal High School. Our younger daughter played volleyball for Fort Worth Academy. She now plays club volleyball and also wants to play for Paschal. Our 12 year old son plays basketball and baseball, while also playing baseball for a Little League team. Fort Worth Academy has helped all three of our children develop as athletes and as sportsmen.
Posted by a parent on 4/2/2016My son came to Fort Worth Academy in the 3rd grade; we had moved from St. Louis, the place he knew as home. The transition was challenging, but my boy is not shy and approached the school's amazing head, Bill Broderick, and shared with him his former school's great project, THE EGG DROP. Suffice it to say that the school is now celebrating its own, very innovative fifth year doing an egg drop. What is significant about this experience is that the Academy, and its amazing faculty and staff, are responsive to the innovative spirit of its students. This experience not only helped my son feel more a part of a new school, but he had the chance to actually do the work and to demonstrate how to be a leader and a follower all at the same time.

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy kids have been going here since my oldest (currently in 2nd grade) was in pre-k. My youngest is currently in kinder. They love it. The teachers are great. My oldest is in the special education program for speech and has been doing great. He had the same SLP for 3 years and she was lovely. They hired a new one this year and I have no complaints about her either. His kinder and 1st grade teacher both provided additional tutoring when we realized he was struggling in reading, which so greatly appreciated and the improvement was noticed. His 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Morales, is so loving and always willing to send work extra with him considering he needs a little extra help. My youngest loves school and his teacher and is actually very ahead in school and we’re considering getting him tested for gifted and talented next year. I think Fort Worth ISD isn’t the best district, & we’ll likely try and move our kids out for middle school, but I genuinely feel like Jt Stevens is a really great choice from my personal experience. We’ll have our kids there thru fifth grade unless we sell our house before then, which isn’t the plan!Parent Review1mo ago - Woodway Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child has been in this school since kindergarten currently now in 3rd grade. We had issues since the fist day we stared ,the teachers have no communication and no control of un behaved students. I was able to witness this situation during online class. Somehow the same un behave students keep been placed in the same class as my child. My child comes home & mentions the same names of this students always having behavioral issues, bullying & harassment to my child & other class mates. I have spoken to teachers , staff and principals, but nothing has changed! There has been points where my kid cries about assisting this school. I really tried giving this school a chance but there is always one thing or another. There is really rude staff they need more professionalism it seems like they hate the job! I don’t feel comfortable leaving my child around this type of adults I can not imagine how they treat our poor kids if they don’t know how to treat parents. As a parent I do not feel welcome there is no activity where parents are able to assist & come see kids participate or have communication with teachers we basically don’t know what really goes on inside this school ! I really do not recommend this school they need to have some changes done! I am currently looking for another school who has better education & communication. If you really care about your children take some time to find a good school! Woodway is not it!!Parent Review8mo ago - Oakmont Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy experience with this school for the past two years, is academically excellent. My daughter loved her teachers and friends at school. However, we are moving to another area of Crowley. I give the school 4 stars because I highly agree that the school does not know how to deal with bullying (experienced this with my grandchildren who came from out of state. Nor did the school do well with emotional support. None-the-less, teachers are there to teach and WITH parental support, bullying, emotional support, and academics will depend on home support.
