Jim Ned is a great school district just on the outskirts of Abilene.It is a very safe school system that does not allow dangerous or disruptive students to remain in the normal school setting. A young man or lady can accomplish anything they set their mind to with the education and guidance of the educators

My sons attended Jim Ned when young, but a family member needing help led to having to move. Especially after my children had to attend Abernathy schools for 3 years, I am grateful they are back to Jim Ned. We had lack of communication with the HS counselor last year, leading to my oldest playing off
... Read more and not graduating, but that was mostly his own fault. The superintendent is one of the most dedicated I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. The HS principal is a fair and just man. The teachers are very competent and most are very dedicated to each individual student. This is one of the very best schools I have been associated with in any way! Read less

My son was fortunate to get to attend Jim Ned High School. Our family had been part of another school district for 39 years, but our son was very unhappy there. He came as a freshman in high school and within a week, he felt like he belonged. He graduated a few years ago, but still has lots of friends

I have lived in Jim Ned all my life it is a really safe and good place to live. At our school we have had many good teams in sports and I hope to continue. We also have very very nice teachers I intend to stay here my whole life this place it great!

I have had two children go through the Jim Ned School system. One of them is now a student at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He attended Midwestern State University on the scholarships that he received. He was able to go into medical school a year early without having graduated from

We are fortunate that our children attended Jim Ned Schools until the end of this year (2003). Our oldest was a senior last year, and we also had a junior and a freshman in the high school. The high school is fairly new, although the commons area is not big enough to accomodate all the students for
... Read more lunch, so lunch periods start early and run late. Last year, the high school counselor retired, and a wonderful teacher/counselor stepped up to fill that position. She has helped all of us understand the college admission process and done a very good job of letting our other children know what they must do to get into the schools they wish to attend. The system is fortunate to have some dedicated teachers. Jim Ned's enrollment is increasing even as other schools in the area lose students. Read less

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
