My three oldest attended TWHS but each had a ho-hum experience. Too much emphasis on money and fast cars. The four period block schedule has many disadvantages and may be better for teachers than students. Elite attitude doesn't promote individuality or creativity. We sent our fourth child across the

As parents of a TWHS junior I can say that this school is amazing when it comes to assessing the level of achievement among academics and extracurricular programs. Normally we have nothing but positive comments about the school, but it has been nothing but a dissapointment during TAKS week. I have a child at TWHS and another at McCullough, and the discrepancy between the testing atmosphere is incredibly disturbing. My 7th grader (McC) was able to take supervised

My 10th grader (TWHS) was forced to sit silently (they were given the choice of staring at the wall or sleeping once finished) for four hours each day and was told multiple times that he may NOT read after turning in his test. Different rules between schools in the same district? Are the rules set by TEA not strict enough for them? If I am sending my child to school despite swine flu, don't tell him to sleep instead of learning. Read less
