I've had two students at McC and both have always found time to complete most of their homework at school or on the ride home. Our current student took all preAP core classes last year and even he had time to do the majority of his homework at school Sure, there were outside projects in each of those

Our daughter has attended McCullough for 2 years. If you're relocating and comparing the 2 junior high school zones in The Woodlands, know that McCullough, and the high school that it feeds, are bigger, and slightly more 'upscale' demographically, but not that much different overall. If you do any

I agree with other posters who have noted the heavy workloads at McC. I think the school is run well in that the kids are kept on the right track, but it can be an extremely competitive and pressure-filled environment, in all aspects of student life. And I think this eventually takes it toll on the kids. My recommendation is for your kid to focus and do well in one niche, which can be difficult. Otherwise they risk getting lost in the shuffle. This is a great school, and the Theatre department really excells, which is important to my daughters, but they send out far too much homework. My son has to get up at 5 for football, and both he and my daughter get 60 algebra problems a night, on top of about 3 hours of other homework.

After going to school for 6.5 hours, 3 or 4 hours of homework is not necessary. Shouldn t students be able to have a life outside of school? If a student is included in any sports or fine arts they do not get home until later in the evening. After rushing through dinner, they must finish homework. There

If you have a child with learning disabilities, getting an IEP in the Conroe Independent School District is a nightmare! The district will do anything it can do to fight you, and my advice is to hire an advocate from the moment you approach the school with your request for testing. The odd thing is,

I have been very happy with how well McCullough has abided by the modifications and accommodations listed in my child's IEP, and I have been very happy with the specialized instruction my child has received. I also adore Deborah Martinez, the school's diagnostician. She is very kind and considerate and seems to want the best for my child. Read less
