I totally disagree with the negative comments about the administration of the school. I have taught at other schools and returned to Northampton because of the strong instructional leadership and caring attitudes of the school administrators. The staff and students love our principals!

They say you can tell alot about a school by the looks on people's faces....well, at Northampton the students and staff overall seem very happy. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. Students hug the teachers and principals, so it's obvioius they are comfortable in this school. The instruction

The staff at this school is outstanding. The principal sets a tone of caring and concern for the students and staff. The instruction is strong. The level of dedication is incredible.

The PFO at Northampton is outstanding coming up with innovative fundraisers to benefit the teachers and students. Quality of teaching is excellent. Although leadership at the principle level [seems] dogmatic in thinking teachers overcome this with their caring and professionalism.

This is an excellent school with dedicated, caring teachers and administrators! Children are at the center of everything that happens at the school. Parents are welcomed warmly and always treated with respect. I love this school!

My children have loved attending Northampton Elementary! I love the fact that this school is withing walking distance to the Northampton neighborhood, and is also right next to Hildebrandt Intermediate School and Klein Oak High School. Klein Oak just became an IB school this year, and is the only IB
... Read more school other than Bellaire and Lamar, that are both located in Houston. We have loved the teachers and the teaching at Northampton, and would highly recommend it and the other schools mentioned. I would like to see the Y after school program at this school however. The daycares in this area are either non-existent or not worth mentioning. Working moms are forced to find babysitting services within their neighborhoods. We have two excellent Y's in the area now, Shadowbend and the brand new Branch Crossing. What will it take to get this program at our schools? Read less

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
