I see why the PTO is disliked, the meetings are held during the school day a no-go for those who are SAHM with younger children or work. The PTO, at principal s urging, spent $1000s of dollars on a weather system before it bothered to put in any playground equipment that came over a semester later for
... Read more only one grade level. Another grade level received playground equipment a year after that. I know more than one who has had problems. The principals haven't wanted to meet with them and when they did, the parents have left saying that they felt better, but know that nothing was done to solve the problem. Too frequently there are silent lunches and the only recess is cancelled. Kids are expected to sit in car line up to 30 minutes without saying a word or they lose the next day s recess. Read less

This school is in a nice neighborhood. I volunteer there regularly and I have to say what I see sometimes upsets me. There is a definite preference given to some students (those who have parents who work or volunteer there often) and parents (those that volunteer without and never question anything).
... Read more I do not see rules and policies being applied to all students equally. I don t think the education is lacking, but a little too cookie cutter. I also think that the school cares more about how it is seen than about what it really does. I ve worked in schools that don t rate as high, but I see more time, care and attention given to each students needs and learning style without the favoritism. Read less

I have observed at this school during college and I love going to Kaufman for observation. The teachers and staff are extremely friendly and have all the teachers have a great bond with other teachers and students. I don't have children yet, but when I do, I definitely want them to go to Kaufman Elementary!!!

This is a great school. The teachers are so dedicated and the school has a very open doors policy for the parents to be involved at the school. There is a lot of parental involvement and a real community feel to the school.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
